These terms govern the sale of our handmade knives. Please read them carefully before ordering, as placing an order means you accept them.

Legal compliance & age restriction

In accordance with UK law, including the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (as amended) and the Offensive Weapons Act 2019, we do not sell knives or bladed products to anyone under the age of 18. By placing an order through this website, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older and legally entitled to purchase bladed items.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order where age verification cannot be satisfied.

[HARRY TO CONFIRM] The Offensive Weapons Act 2019 places specific duties on remote sellers of bladed products, including age-verification at purchase and age-verified handover on delivery (the item must not be left unattended and must be handed to someone aged 18+). About our products

All knives sold on this website are handcrafted kitchen knives intended for lawful domestic and professional culinary use only. They are not designed, marketed, or sold as weapons.

Ordering & acceptance

  • All orders are subject to acceptance and availability.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including where there are concerns about age verification, legality, or misuse.
  • Pre-order items are clearly marked as such. Estimated lead times are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed.
[HARRY TO CONFIRM] Binding UK consumer terms should state when the contract is formed (typically when we send an order confirmation or dispatch the goods, not simply when you place the order). Confirm and insert the contract-formation wording.

Pricing & payment

  • All prices are listed in GBP unless otherwise stated.
  • Payment must be made in full before an order is processed or dispatched.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing at any time without prior notice. Changes do not affect orders we have already accepted.
[HARRY TO CONFIRM] Confirm whether prices include VAT (and whether HandFab is VAT-registered), as UK consumer pricing must show the total price payable including taxes.

Shipping & delivery

  • Orders are dispatched using appropriate delivery services.
  • Where applicable, age-verified delivery services are used for bladed items.
  • The customer is responsible for ensuring knives are legal to import and possess in their destination country. We are not liable for items delayed, seized, or returned by customs.
[HARRY TO CONFIRM] Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 require delivery within 30 days unless otherwise agreed. Confirm HandFab's actual dispatch and delivery timeframes and the specific age-verified courier method, and keep this consistent with the Shipping page.

International orders

For orders outside the UK, the buyer is responsible for understanding and complying with local laws and regulations on knife ownership and importation. We accept no liability for international shipments that are refused, seized, or destroyed by customs authorities.

Returns & cancellations

  • Custom or made-to-order knives are non-refundable unless faulty.
  • Stock items may be returned within 14 days of receipt, unused and in their original condition.
  • Return postage costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the item is faulty.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, stock knives carry a 14-day right to cancel (cooling-off period), while bespoke / made-to-order or personalised knives are exempt from that right once making begins. Product care & use

Knives are sharp tools and must be used responsibly. By purchasing, you acknowledge that improper use, modification, or failure to follow reasonable care instructions may result in injury or damage.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the improper use or misuse of any product sold through this website.

[HARRY TO CONFIRM] A blanket exclusion of liability for "any injury" is not enforceable in the UK. By law you cannot exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for breach of statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This clause must be reworded to preserve those non-excludable rights, otherwise it is both invalid and a consumer-law risk. Confirm compliant wording before publishing.

Intellectual property

All designs, images, text, and branding remain the intellectual property of the maker and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the UK courts.

[HARRY TO CONFIRM] "Laws of the United Kingdom" is imprecise, as the UK has separate legal systems. For a Scotland-based maker this is usually "the laws of Scotland" with jurisdiction of the Scottish courts, though consumers keep the right to bring claims in their home UK nation. Confirm the correct governing-law wording.
